New Britain Township is located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and is situated 35 miles to the north of Philadelphia and 83 miles to the southwest of New York City. According to the most recent census, the township’s population was just over 11,000.
The township consists of 15.2 square miles, comprising 14.7 square miles of land in addition to 0.6 square miles of water. There are five villages that make up New Britain Township, namely:
From the 2010 census, it was established that 92.0% of the populace of New Britain Township was White, 3.3% were Asian, 2.4% were Latino or Hispanic, 1.6% were African American or Black, and 0.1% were Native American.
From the 2000 census and with respect to age ranges, 27.4% of the populace was under the age of 18; those between 18 and 24 made up 4.6% of the population; 29.7% were 25 to 44; 26.5% were between 45 and 64; and those aged 65 and above made up 11.9% of the township’s populace. Peace Valley Park
Peace Valley Park, the entrance of which is located at 230 Creek Road, New Britain, makes for a terrific day out. The park offers a variety of water sports, including sailing, kayaking, and fishing, in addition to trails for biking, walking and hiking. The park is also open during the winter months when it becomes a haven for cross-country skiing and sledding. The volunteers who man the nature center are extremely knowledgeable, thereby enhancing the facility’s educational value.
Nearby airports include Doylestown Airport, in Doylestown, Pa., Trenton Mercer Airport in Trenton, N.J., Lehigh Valley International Airport in Allentown, Pa., and Philadelphia International Airport, about an hour to the south, in Philadelphia.
